Graduate & ALL Exchange International Student Orientation

BGSU will be closed from December 24, 2026, to January 1, 2027, and will resume normal operations on Monday, January 4, 2027.


International Student Orientation is mandatory for all NEW incoming international students for the Spring 2027 semester. During International Student Orientation you can expect: 
 
Thursday, January 7, 2027: 9:00am-7:00pm 

• Official check-in with BGSU's International Programs & Partnerships 
• Lunch with BGSU the International Programs & Partnerships team and other BGSU administration 
• Optional Shopping Trip 

Friday, January 8, 2027: 8:00am-5:00pm 

• Resource Fair (Optional) 
• Attend the Graduate College Welcome (Graduate Students only) 
• Attend the TA/TI Training (Graduate Students with teaching responsibilities only) 
• And more! 

Temporary housing will NOT be available, students are responsible for making overnight accommodations prior to your arrival to campus. 
 

Student Housing Information 

• All students living off-campus will need to make other arrangements prior to arriving to campus 

• If you are looking for an off-campus apartment, house, condo, etc., Off-Campus Student Services provides students with resources to help them navigate the off-campus housing process and supply resources to ensure they are prepared and protected.   

• Exchange students (J-1 visa holders) living on campus will be permitted to check-in to spring housing beginning on Monday, December 28, 2026. Please visit the Early Move-In website for more information on scheduling your move-in appointment 

• Exchange students (J-1 visa holders) who will live on campus and will arrive prior to Monday, December 28, 2026 will need to make hotel or other arrangements prior to arriving to campus
